Appeal to donate winter coats to those in need

Ealing Broadway shopping centre has partnered with charity Calling London to launch a winter coat campaign for Ealing residents to donate their unwanted coats for redistribution to those in need.

Running until 23 November 2023, visitors to the centre will be able to drop off their clean coats to a donation box located outside Tiger.

Shoppers can donate anything from wool coats to ski jackets. All donations will be collected by Calling London and distributed across London for those whjo need a warm coat.

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway said: “We know it’s likely that many families will have winter coats sitting unused in their homes. Donating them will not only free up some much-needed wardrobe space, but it will directly support those in need, while also helping the environment by giving coats a new life.”

Mr Rollings added: “Following the great success of our Clothes Swap and Uniform Shop, we wanted to continue to give back to those who may need additional support throughout the winter months. Community and sustainability are key priorities for us at Ealing Broadway. It’s great to see shoppers coming together to help reduce waste and support those in need by giving their unwanted clothes a new home.”
