Ealing Broadway shoppers get free parking due to emergency car park works being undertaken

Ealing Broadway shoppers who have been getting free parking at the shopping centre so far this month, are set to continue getting it as the centre undertakes emergency car park works to fix technical issues that have beset it.

As a result the centre is unable to charge for parking which costs £1 an hour and £12 if parked between 6 and 24 hours. Motorists will still only be able to enter or leave the car park between 6am and midnight.

EALING.NEWS visited the centre yesterday (15 November 2022) and spoke to shoppers who said the free parking has encouraged them to visit the centre instead of other malls.

Rachel, a mum of three from Acton told EALING.NEWS: “It’s been great to come back here instead of going elsewhere. Everything is getting more expensive and saving on the parking means more of my money goes further.”

Tariq, who travelled from Uxbridge told EALING.NEWS: “I came here to get some gifts for my daughter. Usually I go to the branch at Westfield. It was great to come here and do some other shopping as well and not have to pay for it.  If it proves popular, they should consider offering free parking at other times as well to bring more shoppers here.”

No date has been confirmed for when the emergency car park works will be completed, but Ealing Broadway has said once fixed, car parking charges will be back.

An Ealing Broadway spokesperson told EALING.NEWS: “Parking is currently free at Ealing Broadway due to emergency car park works taking place. We are working as quickly as we can to complete the emergency car park works, which have also caused the temporary closure of our Windsor Road car park entrance and exit.”

They added: “Once the emergency car park works are completed, parking charges will be reinstated at the same cost as they were prior to the works.”
