The leader of the opposition at Ealing Council, Liberal Democrat Councillor Gary Malcolm has completed more than 500,000 steps in October and smashed his target of 10,000 steps to raise £200 for Shelter, a charity which campaigns and provides help and advice for people needing housing or facing homelessness.
Councillor Malcolm, who represents Southfield ward said it was “wonderful” to meet and exceed the challenge of doing 10,000 steps a day.
He said: “Councillor Gary Malcolm said: “It is wonderful to complete the challenge successfully and raise money for Shelter who provide a great help to many in need. It was very motivating but always tricky when the weather was rainy.”
Councillor Malcolm also said there is still time to donate to his challenge. “A special thank you to everyone who generously donated to such a meaningful cause. The £200 target has now been met but if you would like to donate to Shelter – you still can!
