Community mediation service and charity, Ealing Mediation Service (EMS) has begun the year with a new chairman, Andrew Walker, as well as holding its Annual General Meeting (15 January 2024) where Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Hitesh Tailor was guest of honour.
The charity seeks to help resolve local issues between residents such as anti-social behaviour by using mediation as the means to help people.
New chairman Andrew Walker who has recently retired from a long career working in the Ministry of Defence said: “Mediation offers a powerful tool to address conflict constructively and find solutions that meet the needs of all involved. EMS is proud to provide this essential service free of charge to the residents of Ealing, helping to create a more peaceful and inclusive borough.”
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Tailor said of attending the Ealing Mediation Service AGM and the work the charity does across the borough. “I was delighted to be invited to open the Annual General Meeting of Ealing Mediation Service as Mayor.”
He added: “I recognise the valuable role they have in helping resolve difficult situations, by alleviating and deescalating tensions, and to find amicable resolutions without recourse to costly legal channels or engagement of public authorities. I have asked EMS to ensure they publicise their services to councillors as they will find the resource very useful.”
