Ealing Police connect with residents on WhatsApp community channel

In a move to reach out to Ealing residents and keep them updated about the work they do and what is happening in the borough, Ealing Police have set up a WhatsApp community channel.

According to the Met, the new channel aims to provide updated information and crime prevention advice for the borough.

PC James Proctor, who works for the local West Area media team said: “The idea behind using a WhatsApp Community Channel is to share as wide as possible information and crime prevention advice that is local to Ealing Borough and, where relevant, details of wider MPS operations and information.”

PC Proctor added: “We are hoping that having WhatsApp as an additional medium will have a greater reach especially into the younger communities that do not necessarily use X or Facebook. Everyone has WhatsApp, if everyone just clicked to follow we can build a really powerful positive online community for the MPS and for Ealing.”
