The Ealing Project was the first cinema in central Ealing since 2008 but faced increasing competition from Ealing Picturehouse which opened in October 2023.

EALING.NEWS has reached out to Begbies Traynor which is handling the liquidation and also Ealing Broadway shopping centre.

In a posting on Instagram, Ealing Project said: “Hi Everyone, We want to assure you that the Ealing Project is open and trading as usual. We’re committed to continuing to provide the best cinema experience. We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you!”

When the cinema was launched in summer 2022, Preston Benson, founder of Really Local Group said: “We’re very proud of the space we’ve created and we’re confident Ealing locals and newcomers alike will enjoy the huge new space and rich programme of films, art installations and events.”

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway said at its launch:  “The Ealing Project is a fantastic addition to Ealing Broadway, with shoppers able to factor in a cinema trip, event, exhibition, or evening of live music to their visit to the centre. We’re also excited for locals to have the opportunity to use the new space for work meetings or catch ups with friends and welcome the new selection of films which will be available. The Ealing Project will complement our strong mix of retailers and restaurants at the centre, which we hope to continue expanding over the next few months.”
