Ealing takes pride in Pride

To mark and celebrate the annual Pride in London, Ealing Council has raised the rainbow flag above Ealing Town Hall.

This year’s Pride in London celebrates 50 years since it started and takes place in central London on July 2 2022.

“This year is the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride event and June is Pride Month,” said Ealing Council leader Peter Mason. “It’s a chance to celebrate the history of LGBTQ+ people in the UK and acknowledge the positive changes that have taken place in terms of LGBTQ+ rights but also to remember the positive contributions LGBTQ+ people have made, and continue to make, every day.”

Deputy leader Councillor Deirdre Costigan added: “As a council we would like to wish all our LGBTQ+ staff and residents a fantastic pride month. We are committed to making Ealing a positive and welcoming place for all LGBTQ+ people, their friends and supporters.”
