The eastbound Elizabeth Line platform at West Ealing train station which was shut since Sunday (3 July 2022) due to “an unsafe structure” is now open again to commuters. The closure was the second time platforms at the station had to be shut following an incident in March earlier this year.
Previously, a development next to the station by property firm Southern Grove resulted in work being stopped as they didn’t have required permission from the council to do the works. Concern at the time was raised over the safety of a wall overlooking the platform which needed to be repaired and despite work being done in March, it needed further “urgent repairs” this week.
According to National Rail, the repairs have been carried out and eastbound trains were stopping again from Thursday morning.
