Leila Parks, the lady captain of Perivale Park Golf Club in 1972 and 1973 has passed away aged 101.
Ms Parks passed away on 17 September 2023 following a short time in hospital.

She has been a resident at Brackenbridge House care home in Ruislip since 2018. In 2021, she rediscovered her golf club and was an active visitor to Perivale Park Golf Club attending its Charity Day and Captain’s Day club events.
Ms Parks told fellow golfers the secret to her reaching 101 years of age was down to playing golf. She was much loved by current club members and the staff at Brackenbridge and was very much missed by all at this year’s club Charity Day tournament which coincided with the day of her passing.
A club spokesperson told EALING.NEWS: “Sadly, despite our thoughts and prayers for Leila, the club learnt on 18 September 2023 she had passed away peacefully on 17th September. When asked last year, Leila had said the secret to her longevity and her overall health was being able to be active playing golf and meeting new friends on the golf course.”
Margaret Deeker, Ms Park’s close friend for the past ten years, said not only did she play at West Middlesex Golf Club but Ms Park was was an accomplished pianist and was with the London Symphony Orchestra for some time. Music was the love of Leila’s life. Ms Deeker added that Ms Park was the most interesting person she had ever met and she misses her terribly.
