Just two years after arriving in Ealing Broadway, Gordon Ramsey’s Bread Street Cafe shut down earlier this week without warning or any information being made available.
Since opening the 70-seat upscale cafe on 23 August 2021, Bread Street received mixed reviews from punters.

A year after opening, the cafe was recognised as one of the best in Ealing when it came to hygiene. On 26 August 2022, it was given a score of 5 for its Food Hygiene Rating by Ealing Council, the highest possible recognition.
For food hygiene and safety it scored very good, structural compliance was good and confidence in management was very good.
But when it came to getting people into the cafe, the feedback from punters were mixed.
According to reviews on TripAdvisor, it was “very expensive” and “When you see Gordon’s name, you expect the food to be exceptional, however, in our case we sadly did not enjoy our visit” while others said “Decor very attractive – rather reminiscent of a European style “Grand Cafe”. Service discreet and helpful.” and “Food was very good. Burger was one of the best”.
On Twitter/X, food fans said they were let down by the service. @nikki_mulhall said: “I went to Bread Street Ealing today and it was true disappointment. The service was a truly appalling experience. Once we final got to order it was a 30min wait for food that came out wrong.”
Earlier this week and without any warning, the restaurant was closed down and its name removed from the front as well as being removed from Gordon Ramsey Restaurants and Ealing Broadway shopping centre websites.
Now, all that remains in the front is signage covering up the previous occupant Limeyard and the letters “MEYAR” showing.
EALING.NEWS reached out to both Ealing Broadway shopping centre where the restaurant is located as well as Gordon Ramsey Restaurants.
Ealing Broadway said there are “exciting plans” for the centre.
