March 2024 screening and community updates from ActOne cinema in Acton

Acton’s ActOne’s March 2024 programming is packed with great films and entertaining community events.

The greatly received British film Wicked Little Letters continues and from 1 March, we are showing DUNE: PART TWO and PERFECT DAYS.

We open the first March work week with a choir double-bill – on 4 March at 7:30 pm, our Lounge will host the first-ever rehearsal of the newly established West London Queer Choir and on 5 March, the Lounge belongs to our regulars, Offbeat Choir.

We will host our second Board Games Evening on 6 March from 6 pm. Free entry, all enthusiasts and all levels are welcome!

7 March offers a modified screening of THE DUNE: PART TWO that is autism and dementia-friendly. Screen 2 at 4:30 pm. We accept CEA cards and carers and PAs go free.

Rikky Cox hosts his Wellbeing Café on 9 March between noon and 2 pm. Attend for a personal insight into mental and physical health, held monthly at our Lounge.

10 March at 2:15 pm will see fans of The Ealing Club and its rich musical history – we are delighted to be showing Suburban Steps to Rockland: The Story of The Ealing Club followed by a live Q&A with the director Giorgio Guernier and the producer Alistair Young. The event is currently sold out.

13 March from 6 pm will belong to the monthly Short Film Open Mic, Sound & Vision. An excellent, entertaining event that brings creatives and audiences together, to discover a range of new short films of all genres, followed by networking drinks amongst filmmakers.

Ealing Repair Café will bring their Mend & Natter on 20 March between 2 – 4 pm where they’ll teach you how to mend your clothes. There is no need to book, simply show up at our lounge with the clothes you wish to save – a £3 contribution towards equipment and materials.

Hitchcock fans will appreciate our Classic Matinee: North By Northwest on 20 March at 2:30 pm. Customers over 60 pay only £5 per ticket and there is an opportunity to socialise after the film with free tea and biscuits.

National Theatre fans will gather on 21 March at 7 pm for a sold-out showing of NT Live: The Motive and The Cue. An additional screening is scheduled for Sunday 24 March at 2 pm with limited tickets remaining.

ActOne’s popular Jazz Night will see Trent Pieterse Trio on 23 March at 8 pm – free entry, smooth drinks, great atmosphere.

Royal Opera Live Broadcast of Madama Butterfly will be confirmed very soon, most likely happening on 26 March at 7:15 pm.

We will close another busy month on 28 March with our wonderful Open Mic Night. Sign up from 7:30 pm, performances start at 8 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our usual weekly staples like Carers & Babies Club Tuesdays, closed-captioned screenings, relaxed screenings and our evolving programme can be seen and tickets booked at ActOneCinema.co.uk
