Northolt’s Halloween haunted house and walk through proves a great success

A haunted house and walk through in Northolt at Kempton Avenue, UB5 4HF that has been scaring and delighting people young and old has had a successful Halloween.

Organised by Lisa and Jason Cole, the annual Halloween attraction which took place on 31 October raises money for charity and has once again attracted hundreds of people to witness an event featuring animated props, visual effects, live actors and lighting effects.

This year, proceeds will be going to Meadow House Hospice in Ealing in honour of Mr Cole’s mother Marilyn who passed away earlier this year after fighting cancer for six years.

Her daughter-in-law Lisa told EALING.NEWS of how the night went: “We have experienced a lot of cancer within our family, which recently my mother in law died and which she fought for 6 years. She was an avid fan of Halloween. She was young at heart, funny and was the centre of our large family, who loved the fun and frights of Halloween.

“The night was so busy, with the queue going down the street. Some people queued for 45 minutes, and even said that it was so worth the wait. In total we raised £450.25 for Meadow House Hospice.”

Ms Cole added: “The children loved the light up candyfloss, and even some of the teachers from our children’s school, purchased them too! Our local MP, James Murray, came along to support us, and even braved the Haunted House.

“We did have a few issues with children touching and breaking the animatronic props, which will now have to be replaced with our own money. The events that we put on, are totally financed by ourselves, so its quite disheartening when our stuff gets damaged, as they cant be re-used for future events or charities to benefit. But all in all it was an excellent night.

We are now putting Halloween away and turning the haunted house into a Christmas display, with the witches hut becoming a santas grotto. We would really like to thank people for coming to the haunted house, supporting us and donating. Plans are already underway for next years Halloween. So be prepared for bigger, better and scarier.”
