Police had warned the public that he is said to be violent and, if seen, he should not be approached.

In June 2017 Abid was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order after pleading guilty to the manslaughter in October 2016 of his cousin on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

According to reports, this was not the first time he escaped. In 2019, Abid fled Homerton Hospital in Hackney, north east London while receiving out-patient treatment before being recaptured.

In a statement, Met Police said: “We would like to thank the public and media for their support in publicising this appeal and assisting in locating Mosa Abid.”
