126-year-old independent care and nursing home St. David’s Home in Ealing has been acquired by Gold Care Homes.
The 76-bed home, set up by Lady Anne Kerr, daughter of the 14th Duke of Norfolk, was established in 1918 as a place of respite and care for the war wounded and is located in a former Royal residence on Castlebar Hill. It has continued providing care services for former servicemen and women and Gold Care Homes says it will now open its services to anyone with or without a military connection.
Sukhi Gidar, CEO of Gold Care Homes, which has a portfolio of 34 care homes and runs Acton Care Centre on Gunnersbury Lane, said: “I would like to extend a very warm Gold Care welcome to the residents and staff at St. David’s Care Home. My late brother and I started Gold Care Homes in 1999, with one care home and a single mission which was to bring joy, happiness and fulfilment to the residents in our care. 25 years later, our group continues to go from strength to strength, now serving nearly 2000 residents.”
