Young Ealing Foundation and Ealing Foodbank get supported by Ealing Broadway’s Giving Box

Ealing Broadway shopping centre has chosen Young Ealing Foundation and Ealing Food Bank as its two new charity partners to be supported by its Giving Box.

Located outside Tesco, the Giving Box allows members of the public to make a contactless payment and donate £3, £5 or £10 to help support the charity partners.

Young Ealing Foundation was established in 2017 and connects and equips grassroots youth charities, supporters and decision makers. Through its 70 members, the work it does helps support more than 60,000 children and young people across the borough. The charity also runs the annual Young Ealing Foundation Awards which celebrates Ealing’s young people and providers who support young people.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Tanya Taylor, head of communications and business development said: “We’re delighted that Ealing Broadway has chosen the Young Ealing Foundation as one of their charity partners. Support like this means so much to us and we’re grateful to Ealing Broadway for such a brilliant opportunity to be pride of place in the shopping centre.”

Ms Taylor added: “The Giving Box not only enables us to receive donations from the generous local community, but also raises awareness of the Young Ealing Foundation and the important work we do. Together, we’re making Ealing a great place for children and young people.”

Ealing Foodbank, which was set up in 2013 has been providing food and support to people across Ealing.  In 2022, 39,593 people accessed the food bank’s service for food and advice. It is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust.

The two charities replace Ealing BeFriend and Ealing MENCAP who were supported by the Giving Box over the past year.

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said: “Thanks to our generous local community, our Giving Boxes have been able to provide support to four charities to date in their essential work, and we’re thrilled to continue this support moving forwards for Ealing Food Bank and Young Ealing Foundation.

“We are always amazed by the generosity of our visitors, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for their help. The contributions they make will be crucial in enabling these charities to sustain their incredible efforts and assist those in our local communities who require it the most.”
