As Rishi Sunak takes up his new role as leader of the Conservatives and Prime Minster of the United Kingdom today (25 October 2022), Ealing Conservatives Group have issued a statement to welcome him.
“Ealing’s Conservatives warmly welcome the appointment by His Majesty King Charles III of Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
“Mr Sunak takes office as the whole world faces unpredecented challenges. The after effects of the covid pandemic are felt everywhere. There is a war on mainland Europe, where the dark clouds of totalitarianism threaten economic recession, starvation and other adversity.
“We have every confidence that Rishi Sunak’s Conservative government will demonstrate the economic competence necessary to steer the United Kingdom through these difficulties, taking the decisions necessary to control public debt and grow the economy for the benefit of all.
“Mr Sunak prioritises a stronger NHS, better schools and safer streets. He will encourage businesses to invest, innovate and create jobs. He will unite the country not with words but with action.”
