YouGov poll predicts Green Party could overtake Conservatives in Ealing Southall and come second

The Green Party could overtake the Conservatives in Ealing Southall and come second according to a new 2024 general election poll by YouGov.

The poll found that overall Labour is set have a 194-seat majority at Parliament for the 4 July 2024 general election with all three Ealing constituencies remaining Labour as well.

In a shock to the Conservatives, the Green Party could come second in Ealing Southall being 0.5% behind the Tories. According to the poll, Deirdre Costigan for Labour is predicted to get 60.6% of votes. The Conservatives are currently showing as getting 13.6% while  the Green Party is predicted to get 13.1%.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Neil Reynolds, chair of Ealing Green Party and standing to be MP for Ealing Southall said: “This poll shows the progress The Green Party are making nationally and in Ealing Southall. The Tory’s disastrous campaign and record in government, is seeing them go backwards. Residents can safely choose real hope and real change on July 4th and vote Green.”

In Ealing Central and Acton, Dr Rupa Huq is predicted to get 63.9% of votes for Labour with Conservatives coming second at 14.1%.

Over at Ealing North, James Murray is predicted to get 57.3% of votes for Labour with Conservatives getting 17.1%.
