Ealing Trailfinders Angus Kernohan and Ollie Newman have been made joint club captains of the rugby team for the 2024/25 season.
Kernohan joined Trailfinders in 2020 from Ulster while Newman joined in 2022 from Northampton Saints and both have played leading roles with the club winning Championships titles and Championship cups in recent years.
Kernohan said: “It was a real honour to be asked to be Club Captain, and I’m very appreciative of the opportunity. It’s a really exciting year for the club, and hopefully Ollie and I will be able to work well with the coaching team and lead the player group to do our best and have a really enjoyable season. I believe if we do that, it’ll be a successful one.”
Newman added: “I feel privileged to be selected as Club Captain alongside Angus. In this role we will both strive to represent the needs of the group whilst ensuring all actions constructively contribute towards achieving the team’s goals.”
Ealing Trailfinders director of rugby, Ben Ward said: “I couldn’t be more happy to name these two as the leaders of our squad going into the new season. They are both fiercely competitive on the pitch and hungry for more success as a team.
“They are very professional in how they conduct themselves and I believe they will put the needs of the team before their own. I am looking forward to them representing as a group this season.”
