A tennis playing Year 8 student from St Benedict’s school in Ealing has been given the opportunity to take part in playing at the world famous Wimbledon tennis courts which starts at the end of this month.
Mika, won both the singles and doubles at the 14U Grass court National Championships in East Gloucestershire.
As a result of this huge success she was also awarded a GBR wild card into the 14U international event at the Wimbledon Championships which starts on 27 June and will compete against some of the best under 14 tennis players from around the world.
“I received a wild card for invitational Championships that will take place at Wimbledon during the adult championships,” said Mika. “To qualify for that event players had to win nationals in different countries or win the international at Roehampton. Both winner and runner-up get a wild card. In the Wimbledon event that I already secured my place for there will be the best juniors 14U from around the world. Also, representing Great Britain at the Summer Cup, is a great honour.”

“Great result Mika, fantastic achievement to win both the singles and doubles – can’t wait to watch your progress at the Wimbledon U14 championships. Great to see the St Benedict’s tennis program helping to nurture such a fantastic talent!”
