Ealing gets ready for Young Ealing Foundation Awards 2024

With just ten days to go before the third Young Ealing Foundation Awards (YEF Awards), excitement is rising for the prestigious event which celebrates young people and those who support them across the borough.

Organised by Young Ealing Foundation (YEF), the Young Ealing Foundation Awards take place on 19 September 2024 at Grade II listed ECC, the former Odeon cinema on Northfields Avenue. The event brings the local community together to recognise and celebrate the borough’s young people and those who support them.

The evening will see 14 awards being presented across two categories.  The first one is for young people under 25 and the second is for groups, organisations, projects and individuals who support children and young people in Ealing.

The under 25 award categories are: Mental Health Champion of the Year, Young Activist of the Year,  Young Creative Leader of the Year, Young Sports Leader of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year and Overcoming Adversity Award.

For those supporting young people the awards are: Employability Project of the Year,  Mental Wellbeing Project of the Year, Physical Wellbeing Project of the Year, Creative Project of the Year,  Education Project of the Year,  Disability Project of the Year and Youth Professional of the Year.

EALING.NEWS spoke to Tanya Taylor, head of communications and business development to find out more.

How is it going for your latest awards event?
We can’t wait to welcome the local community to our third annual Young Ealing Foundation Awards on Thursday 19th September. At Young Ealing Foundation we believe it’s vital to showcase the brilliant work and achievements that take place across our borough and were blown away by the nominations we received – huge thanks to everyone who nominated.

Will this year’s event be different from previous years?
We’re making this year’s ceremony even bigger and better than ever, which is certainly saying something if you’ve ever been an attendee at previous years! This year, the ceremony is taking place at the stunning Grade II listed ECC, Northfields – a real hidden gem of the borough and is being co-hosted by one of our fantastic Ealing Young Champions, Emily and Capital Xtra’s JoJo Silva.

What entertainment will be happening on the night?
As always, we’ve got an impressive line-up of performances from local young talent including Ealing Street Dance Academy, Voices Singing School and Luna Dance, as well as 14 awards celebrating our local young people and the unsung heroes of our youth organisations who work tirelessly to support them.
