Shortlist announced for 2025 Young Ealing Foundation Awards

With just two weeks to go before the fourth Young Ealing Foundation Awards (YEF Awards), the shortlist of names has been revealed for Ealing’s prestigious event which celebrates young people and those who support them across the borough.

Organised by Young Ealing Foundation (YEF), the  Awards take place on 25 September 2025 at Grade II listed ECC, the former Odeon cinema on Northfields Avenue.

The evening will see 10 awards being presented across two categories.  Five of the awards recognise young people under 25 and the remaining five are for groups, organisations, projects and individuals who support children and young people in Ealing.

The under 25 award categories are: Young Activist of the Year,  Young Leader of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year and Overcoming Adversity Award.

For those supporting young people the awards are: Big Impact, Fighting Inequality, Outstanding Youth Professional, Partnership and Spaces for Young People.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Elly Heaton, chief executive officer at Young Ealing Foundation said: “We all know that these are increasingly difficult times for children and young people, as well as the organisations who serve them. This years’ awards nominees are outstanding, shining a light on the incredible values shared by the inspirational young people and organisations who have been shortlisted.”

Ms Heaton added: “Every nomination represents the heartfelt and selfless contributions that young people bring to their local community, and the resilience, passion and dedication shown by those working to empower and support them. We’re privileged to be able to bring together such inspiring groups and individuals to celebrate the strength and assets of groups and individuals and continue building strength in our partnerships with them.

“The fourth annual awards will return to last year’s venue, the stunning Grade II listed ECC, Northfields, and will be hosted by YEF staff and trustees, with local young people, delivery partners and dignitaries stepping in to present awards and put community at the heart of the event. The programme will be completed with performances from a wide range of talented – and enthusiastic – children and young people, from projects across the borough, including singing, dancing and more.”
