A community sporting event showcasing the work of W4 Youth which took place at the end of September (30 September 2023) at the W4 Youth Hub in Southfield Recreation Ground has been hailed a great success.
The W4 Youth, Rocks Lane Sports Trust and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust event was attended from across the community and saw the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Hitesh Tailor talk to local parents and children as well as scoring a goal when he took a penalty kick.

At the event W4 Youth Trustees including local Councillor Gary Malcolm spoke to those attending and gave an update on the plans for the new youth and community centre to be sited at Southfield Recreation Ground. They were also listening to people on what type of activities they wanted to be run by W4 Youth in the park,.

Sally Chacatte, W4 Youth founder and chair said: “It was great to be joined by Bretford FC Community Sports Trust and Rocks Lane Sports Trust for such a successful fun community event in Southfield Recreation Ground on Saturday 30 September. We held the joint event to engage the community in the progress of our plans for the new W4 Youth & Community Centre as well as other potential spaces for new activities and to get feedback on what more the local community would like to see.”
Ms Chacatte added: “We had some great suggestions including the usual sports to yoga and stargazing and we’ll be sending out a survey to people in the community who were unable to attend the event to get more feedback to inform the plans for the future. A special thanks to the Mayor of Ealing for coming along to support us.”
