Featherstone High School student set for Harvard University

A Year 13 student, from Featherstone High School, who is currently doing his A levels is set to go to Harvard University in the USA this autumn after gaining a scholarship to study at the prestigious academic institution.

Gurdit Singh, who is taking physics, economics, maths and further maths, was supported by the The Sutton Trust and teachers from Featherstone in applying to a programme that helps UK students apply to US universities and get a fully funded week to the US to gain an insight into studying in the States.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Gurdit said: “Over the past year I’ve been on the Sutton Trust US Programme and it has honestly been life changing experience. I ended up applying to many US schools and got into Harvard, Princeton, Rice, and the Georgia Institute of Technology all with full scholarships. I’ve committed to Harvard and am so excited to get to  campus this autumn.”

He added: “I would highly encourage any current Year 12 student to apply to the programme if you think you’d like to study in America.”
