With just two weeks to go before locals across Ealing vote in the 4 July 2024 General Election, candidates from all parties have been increasing their presence and meeting residents as part of their election campaigns.
Ealing North Workers Party candidate Sameh Habeeb joined with 1000s of people at the annual Hanwell Carnival which took place on Saturday (15 June 2024).
Mr Habeeb shared details of his campaign and election pledges with locals as well as organisations. Mr Habeeb also said “I’m happy to adopt those demands” to Friends of the Earth asking candidates if their policies “live up to the Friends of the Earth demands for the next government”.
Mr Habeeb met representatives from Hanwell Friends of Sabastiya (HAFSA). The 14-year-old group promotes and fosters friendship between the people of Hanwell and Sabastiya in Palestine.
The Workers Party candidate visited the stall of Unite-Shu’fat Twinning Group displaying Palestinian handmade crafts and products.
Following the Carnival, Mr Habeeb said: “The Hanwell Carnival is an amazing event where the people of Ealing come together to enjoy and celebrate our diverse community. It’s vital that we continue to support local businesses and community groups that contribute so much to our local culture and economy.”
