BBC Antiques Roadshow at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery to be aired on Sunday

Just three months after filming BBC Antiques Roadshow at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, BBC1 is set to broadcast the first episode from it on Sunday (25 August 2024) at 8pm.

More than 3,000 people came out to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery in Ealing to attend the much anticipated filming of BBC Antiques Roadshow on 19 May 2024.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, a Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery spokesperson said:  “We are absolutely delighted to see Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, one of Ealing’s finest gems, showcased on national TV. In this premiere episode, Fiona Bruce delves into the rich history of Sir John Soane’s architectural masterpiece, highlighting not only Soane’s influence but also the celebrity friends he entertained, including the renowned artist JMW Turner.”

The show, which enters its 47th series, is known for revealing incredible works of art and antiques from local communities and residents across Ealing had an opportunity to bring their treasures along.

People were told to “raid their attics” and thousands of much loved items were inspected on-site in Walpole Park and Pitzhanger’s gardens.

Visitors were greeted by Antiques Roadshow presenter Fiona Bruce alongside volunteer stewards and directed to ten specialist areas where they queued to meet the show’s specialists.

Among those who attended were former Mayor of Ealing Councillor Hitesh Tailor and local MP for Ealing Central and Acton Dr Rupa Huq.

Clare Gough, director of Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery said at the time of the filming: “What a fabulous day enjoying BBC Antiques Roadshow at Pitzhanger today and seeing the joy this event brings. We were thrilled with the turnout and the atmosphere as everyone enjoyed seeing what treasures, or quirky pieces with personal stories, their neighbours had brought along.”

Ms Gough added: “A huge thank you to the excellent teams from the BBC, the volunteer stewards, the suppliers and Pitzhanger staff, all of whom contributed to creating a memorable day celebrating history and community spirit.”

Dr Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing Central and Acton said: “It was a real coup for Antiques Roadshow to come to Ealing and great to see residents from the morning trundling, sometimes wheelbarrows full of swag, to our premier venue, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, for Sunday’s filming when the sun shone down on the thousands who turned out. I even got to speak to Fiona Bruce; the event must be a highlight of this year so far. Bravo to Clare Gough and the team for making the entire feat run smoothly.”
