Ealing Council has completed the creation of its new strategic leadership team with the appointment of four more people that adds to three senior appointments made in January this year.
The council said in a statement, that the new leadership team will: “enable the council to deliver its ambitious plans to transform local government, becoming more open, transparent and inclusive, while cultivating a culture of collaboration with its residents.”
Nicky Fiedler has been appointed strategic director of Housing and Environment. Ms Fielder is currently corporate director of communities at the London Borough of Redbridge.
Emily Hill, who since July 2022 has been interim strategic director for Resources has now been made permanent in the role. Before Ealing, she worked as director of Finance for Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
Kerry Stevens, who since September 2022 has been interim strategic director for Adults and Public Health has also been made permanent. Prior to this, Mr Stevens was director of Adult Services at Ealing Council.
The council has also appointed Kim Brown to the position of director of Workforce and Organisational Development. Ms Brown is currently service director of HR and OD at Plymouth City Council.
Earlier this year, an ex-Councillor told EALING.NEWS, they welcome the move to seeing permanent heads. “For too long, Ealing Council has had heads of large departments being run by interim people. It’s been a long time having some of these positions filled without it going to an interim person. Permanent instead of interim heads should also improve staff morale to know their heads are here for the long term and not the short term.”

With the new strategic leadership team in place, we can now accelerate our plans to transform Ealing Council and deliver our services in new and innovative ways, working in partnership with our communities, to become a more open, connected, and collaborative council.”
