Ealing’s very own Chloe Kelly who secured England’s winning goal against Germany in the Women’s Euros at Wembley Stadium last year has won Barclays’ Women’s Super League Player of the Month for April.
The 25-year-old who attended Elthorne Park High School in Hanwell plays for Man City and was the club’s best player last month as they scored a league-high of 12 goals during the month.
The Barclays’ Player of the Month award recognises the best Women’s Super League player each month of the season. It is shortlisted by a panel of football journalists, footballers and other industry pros and the shortlist is then looked at again before a vote is made for the winner.
Among the highlights in April, Chloe scored once against Reading in a 4-1 win and twice in City’s big 6-2 win over West Ham.
The Hanwell native also received prestigious Player of the Match honours against Reading and assisting as well as having seven shots and creating eight chances.
