Second Ealing Tree Festival to take place in June

Following last year’s inaugural Ealing Tree Festival, Ealing Council has partnered again with Trees for Cites to put on another all things tree related event at Southall Park.

Ealing Council says the Ealing Tree Festival event, on 17 June 2023 from 11am to 4pm,  is aimed at children and adults and to “celebrate all things trees and inspire the community to plant and enjoy them”.

A range of a activities is planned for the day including art, storytelling, live music, craft workshops and live music.

Last year, in November 2022, as part of its ambitious plans to plant 50,000 trees by 2026, Ealing Council partnered with Trees for Streets, which is part of Trees for Cities to allow residents and businesses to sponsor tree planting in streets and parks in Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall.

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, cabinet member for climate action said: “Trees play such an important role in our plans to re-grow and re-wild Ealing, making it a great place for families, whilst also improving biodiversity and the quality of the air we breathe.

“We have been working with Trees for Cities as part of our pledge to plant 50,000 trees all over Ealing, as we take concrete steps to tackle the climate emergency and to purify our air. Ealing Tree Festival returns this year with a wonderful educational programme for people of all ages.”

As well as the event for all the family on 17 June 2023, there are also two workshop events for schoolchildren aged 7 to 14 in Ealing schools to attend at
Southall Park on 13 June 2023 and 14 June 2023  10am-11.30am or 1pm-2.30pm.
