Getting ready for new Lidl in West Ealing

Discount retailer Lidl has confirmed that its new branch in West Ealing is set to open in early 2025.

The new store sees the German retailer take over the site that was previously used by Wilko before it went bust in 2023. The location was then used by Poundland before it decided to pull out in February 2024.

Currently Lidl operates its West Ealing branch across the road to where the new branch will open and is over 300% bigger than the existing store. The new store will offer a larger range of Lidl products than the current branch.

Until the new store is ready, Lidl said that the existing West Ealing store will remain open for business throughout the construction period.

Grant Shulton, Lidl GB’s regional head of property, said: “It’s full steam ahead with the fit out works for our new store in West Ealing, and we’re optimistic that we’ll have the new store open for shoppers in early 2025.”

Mr Shulton added: “This significant upgrade reflects our ambition to expand and enhance our offering to customers across the capital, ensuring that whatever their postcode, they have convenient access to the best products at the lowest possible prices.”
