After more than 25 years of serving fried chicken and fries in West Ealing, KFC has closed down and joins the exodus of other businesses who have left the area.
KFC follows other businesses including EE and Starbucks leaving West Ealing which has also seen all of its banks and building societies closed down in recent years.
In June 2023, baker Wenzels closed with one member of staff saying theft from the shop was one of the reasons for pulling out of the area. In February 2024, Poundland closed down saying it couldn’t reach a long term agreement on a lease.
The last day of getting a finger lickin’ good meal was 19 May 2024 and from 20 May 2024, the nearest branch is in The Mall, Ealing Broadway.
In explaining its decision to follow other businesses that have left the area, the fast food chicken giant says it regularly reviews its sites and some close from time to time as a result.
A KFC spokesperson told EALING.NEWS: “We’re constantly reviewing our portfolio of over 1,000 restaurants and at times, this sadly means we have to close some.”
They added: “We never want to disappoint our team and loyal fans, which is why we always try to relocate our team members to other restaurants, and our fans can always visit our nearby Ealing The Mall coop, or find their next nearest restaurant on our website.”
