In celebration and recognition of Vaisakhi, the Sikh New Year which is occurring on 13 April 2024, Metro Bank branches in Ealing and Southall are appealing for food from locals which can be donated in-store to support the Gurseva foodbank.
Gurseva is a 100% volunteer led organisation which helps people who are vulnerable in the local community and provides hot food, refreshments, clothing, sanitary products to those who are homeless or in shelters.
The foodbank was established in 2020 for those impacted by Covid19 and has been running since then providing help and has been supported by Metro Bank in previous years.
Ealing Metro Bank store manager, Tarandeep Ruprah said: “As a community bank, we want to help support the work of our local foodbanks. We are asking our colleagues and customers to support our food drive to help celebrate one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar.
