Following Ealing Council opening a Book of Condolence yesterday (9 September 2022), residents and councillors across Ealing and its 7 towns have made visits to Ealing Town Hall to sign and express their thoughts and tributes about Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on 8 September 2022.
The Book of Condolence can be signed between 9am and 10pm every day. Ealing Council has not yet said when it will close the book.
As with the first day of the book being opened, Ealing residents and councillors across all parties offered their appreciation and gratitude to The Queen.
Moving words were expressed by those signing it with many explaining what The Queen meant to them and the role she played in society.
EALING.NEWS spoke to residents today (10 September 2022) who were going in to sign the book.
“I’m still in shock by what has happened,” said a man from East Acton. “I still can’t believe it. I’m not a typical Royalist but The Queen did so much for our country and showed great respect for everyone. I’m here to honour that respect she showed to others and gave so much to make things better for all.”
A woman from Ealing shared similar sentiments. “Her Majesty gave so much from an early age. The Queen put the people of the country ahead of anything else in everything she did.”
Among those councillors who signed the Book of Condolence include Councillor Hitesh Tailor for East Acton, Aysha Raza for Central Greenford and Hodan Haili for North Acton.
