Applications now open for selecting secondary schools in Ealing for children to start year 7 from September 2024

Ealing Council is reminding parents and guardians that applications are now open for selecting a secondary school for children to start in September 2024.

The council says it is important to get applications in advance of the final deadline of 31 October 2023 and applications can be submitted any time before then.

Pupils currently in year 6 of primary schools will finish in July 2024 and begin their secondary school life in year 7 from September 2024.

Secondary schools across the borough are hosting open morning and open evenings to visit schools and find out more.

For applying to religious schools there is an additional requirement. The Cardinal Wiseman (Catholic) and Twyford (Church of England) high schools require an additional form to be completed to assess religious commitment. These forms are available direct from the schools themselves or can be obtained from the council website.

The council has also issued guidance about any proposed new schools that are being planned to open in 2024.  The council said: “Any new schools proposed to open in 2024 will be outside the co-ordinated application process. Parents wishing to apply to those schools will need to contact the school direct and apply on the school’s application form. Parents are strongly advised to also apply for established secondary schools through the co-ordinated system because there is no guarantee at this point that the new schools will open in 2024.”

For more information on the school, there is an online brochure to view details. Further details on applying can be found by clicking here.
