Lidl reveals over 50,000 meals donated to people across Ealing in 2023

Budget supermarket Lidl has revealed that during 2023, it has provided £13.5m of food, funding and toys to its local communities including over 50,000 meals to people across Ealing.

In its first ever Community Impact Report, Lidl said that over 90% of its support goes to organisations helping and supporting children, young people and young families.

Through its partnership with the NSPCC, in 2023 it raised £1.77 million to support the running of Childline and says it is on course to raise over £10 million by 2025.

Lidl, which has seven branches across the borough, donated more than 50,000 meals to local charities and good causes in 2023 through its partnership with with Neighbourly.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, a Lidl spokesperson said: “Lidl works with Neighbourly to donate surplus food items through its Feed It Back scheme, as well as food items labelled with its ‘Good To Give’ trustmark that are donated by customers.”

Mark Newbold, senior CSR manager at Lidl GB said: “With over 960 stores across the length and breadth of Great Britain, Lidl is at the very heart of thousands of communities. We’ve worked with our charity partners to conduct in depth research to ensure that the support we give reaches the people in those communities who need it the most.
