Northolt summer party raises money for Meadow House Hospice

A community summer party which took place on Kempton Avenue in Northolt to raise money for an Ealing hospice saw hundreds of people attend last Saturday (10 August 2024).

Lisa and Jason Cole, the couple behind Northolt’s popular Halloween haunted house, held the outdoor event with proceeds going to Meadow House Hospice in Ealing in honour of Mr Cole’s mother who passed away in July 2023 after fighting cancer for six years.

The event raised £400 to support the work Meadow House does.

Among the entertainment put on during the afternoon included an Ed Sheeran tribute act who has battled cancer three times, Elvis, limbo contest, face painting and also an opportunity for children to “splat” their parents.

EALING.NEWS caught up with Lisa to find out more.

Tell us how it went and who attended?
We always get a wide age range of people that attend, as we try and make it be, that there’s something for everyone.

So it kicked off at 1pm, with Captain Fantastic, who truly was fantastic. Tommy came down, pranking around with magic, dancing and doing silly things, to get the children involved.
Then Joseph, who is such a talented Ed Sheeran tribute. He, himself has battled cancer 3 times and unfortunately will never recover. So he jumped at the chance to support us, before he had to go on to another show.
We then moved on to Nic, who is a Royal magician, getting adults on stage, and mind boggling everyone!
Hayley, a great West End singer came on for 30 mins, singing some popular songs. Then we ended with our very own Elvis, my Husband Jason, who I must sincerely commend.
Whilst all of this was going on, we had Radio Harrow with us, Roy with his beautiful American truck, who sadly lost his daughter to cancer, Drew Cameron, from Britain’s Got Talent, joking around and collecting donations, as Mr Bean and Grandad from ‘Only fools and horses’, along with Michael Jackson who was truly getting involved.. and I’m sure you will see him again with us.. at future events!
We also did a raffle, where local people and businesses donated prizes, out of their own good will. The Cod Father, The Great British Kebab, Substation donated rock climbing tickets, Northolt Leisure Centre donated swimming tickets, gym passes and soft play passes and Undiscovered foods donated two full hampers of their goodies.
We had stalls selling candyfloss, cupcakes, sweet cart, hotdogs, cold drinks and snowcones.  Vera selling bracelet kits, Fatima with henna tattoos, Rameka selling soaps, Bounce n Fun Castles with their impressive 3d spiderman castle and Faith’s face painting. Everyone that came gave a donation to charity, so hats off to everyone who helped raise that £400.
When do you now start planning for the Halloween one?
We are already planning Halloween, posters and leaflets are printed and ready to go! The proceeds will again go to Meadow House Hospice.
