Sixth floor of The Wiltern building under development next to Tesco Hoover in Perivale damaged by fire

A new 15 storey apartment building under development that is being built on the former Tesco Hoover building petrol station in Perivale was damaged by fire on Saturday (13 May 2023).

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled the fire which saw crews from Wembley, Ealing, Northolt, Park Royal, Southall and Acton fire stations attend to put out the fire at The Wiltern in Perivale.

The Wiltern when ready for occupation in early 2024 will contain 278 homes for rent.

The Brigade was called at 12:09pm and the fire was under control by 1:05pm.

According to the Brigade, a small part of the sixth floor was damaged by the fire. Around 30 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
