Ealing Tories name candidate for Ealing Central and Acton constituency

Ealing Conservatives members have selected James Windsor-Clive to be their candidate for the Ealing Central and Acton constituency at the next general election which is predicted to take place during the second half of 2024.

He will challenge Labour’s Dr Rupa Huq for the seat which in the 2019 elections saw Dr Huq have a 13,300 majority over the previous Tory candidate Councillor Julian Gallant.

33-year-old Mr Windsor-Clive is currently a researcher for Anthony Browne, the MP for South Cambridgeshire and prior to that began his career as a management consultant. He has also been an entrepreneur and set up what was called the AirBnB of pools and tennis courts where owners could rent out their facilities by the hour.

Mr Windsor-Clive said: “I am delighted to be chosen as the Conservative candidate for Ealing Central and Acton. It is an area that embodies London living: a diverse mix of cultures and architectural heritage punctuated with much-loved green spaces.”

Mr Windsor-Clive added: “I will campaign to maintain the essence of Ealing and Acton. Making sure we protect the character of the area while delivering the essential services residents need: affordable housing, more school places, and better access to GP services. It is also vitally important that everyone feels safe and secure in our community, I will take a tough stance on crime and antisocial behaviour.”

Mr Windsor-Clive is also hoping to follow in the footsteps of his great-great-uncle Hubert Dugan who was the MP for Acton from 1931 until his death in 1943.

Other current candidates who have been named as standing for Ealing Central and Acton are: Alastair Mitton (Liberal Democrats), Felix Orrell (Reform UK) and Marta Bleier (SDP).
