General Election 2024 : All candidates standing to become MP for Ealing Southall

With the General Election happening on 4 July 2024, voters across the country and in Ealing Southall will get the opportunity to have their say on who they want to govern the UK and represent them locally.

EALING.NEWS has asked all candidates standing in Ealing Southall who they are, what they hope to deliver and why they want residents to vote for them. This page will update with interviews from candidates.

Candidates who have already responded are:

Georgie Callé (Conservative and Unionist Party)
Pedro Da Conceicao (Independent)
Steve Chilcott (Reform UK)
Tariq Mahmood (Liberal Democrats)
Neil Reynolds (Green Party)

Darshan Singh Azad (Workers Party)
Sangeet Bhail (Independent)
Joe Bhangu (Independent)
Deirdre Costigan (Labour)

Peter Ward (Rejoin EU)

Ealing Southall has been represented by Labour’s Virendra Sharma in 2007 following a by-election triggered by the death of MP Piara Khabra.

On 27 May 2024, Mr Sharma revealed he was going to stand down and on 30 May 2024 Ealing Council deputy leader Deirdre Costigan was revealed as the candidate for Ealing Southall.

At the last election in 2019, Mr Sharma had a majority of 16,084 over the Conservatives.
