Current MP for Ealing North James Murray, who is seeking to be re-elected as the Labour and Co-operative candidate for the constituency has visited Ealing Foodbank’s Perivale centre at St Nicholas Church to thank volunteers for their help in supporting people using the service.
The local foodbank, which is part of the Trussell Trust, which supports foodbanks across the country and in Ealing alone, around 3,000 were helped during March 2024.
Mr Murray said: “I was very glad to be able to drop in again to the foodbank at St Nicholas in Perivale today to thank the volunteers for all their work. Their great commitment and dedication is so important at a time when so many people are struggling.
“I want foodbank use in our country to be going down, not up. That is why I am asking for people to vote in this election to change the government, so that we can tackle the cost-of-living crisis that is making life hard for so many people in Ealing North.”
Ealing North has been represented by Mr Murray since 2019 when he was chosen to replace Stephen Pound who stood down after 22 years and won with a majority of 12,269 votes over the Conservatives.
