The Ealing Club, a play based on Ealing’s legendary 1960s rock venue has added an extra date to its run following selling out all seats weeks before the play starts.
The production at The Questors Theatre which starts later this month has added an extra performance on 29 October 2022.
The play written by Julian Smith in collaboration with the team behind the feature film Suburban Steps to Rockland, runs for just nine performances at The Questors Studio Theatre. After each show, there will be a local band playing live music.
Alex Marker, Artistic Director of Questors said: “This has been one of the fastest-selling shows we’ve ever produced. I strongly recommend booking for our extra show as soon as possible. Some returns for other dates may become available, please email boxoffice@questors.org.uk to be added to the list.”
Alistair Young, co-founder of the Ealing Club Community Interest Company said “The complete sell-out is fantastic news and shows the growing interest in how our west London borough was the incubator for one of the world’s most popular music genres – guitar-based rock.
“What’s more, as part of our commitment to today’s musicians, we’re pleased to have booked eight great local bands to play after every performance.”
Young added: “This overwhelming interest has encouraged us to arrange some special screenings between now and Christmas of the feature-length documentary film Suburban Steps to Rockland, The Story of the Ealing Club.”
Tickets for 29 October 2022 go on sale 14 October 2022 and can be booked online.
