With the General Election taking place on 4 July 2024, voters across the country and in Ealing will get the opportunity to have their say on who they want to govern the UK and represent them locally.
In Ealing, there are three constituencies up for grabs which are currently held by Labour – Ealing Central and Acton by Dr Rupa Huq, Ealing North by James Murray and Ealing Southall by Virendra Sharma.
Mr Sharma stood down on 27 May 2024 and Ealing Council deputy leader Deirdre Costigan was chosen as the new Labour candidate to contest Ealing Southall in the General Election.
Dr Huq has held Ealing Central and Action since 2015 and in 2019 she had a 13,300 majority over the Conservatives. James Murray has held Ealing North since 2019 where he had a 12,269 majority over the Conservatives. Virendra Sharma was MP for Ealing Southall since 2007 and in 2019 he had a 16,084 majority over the Conservatives.
